 Battery Systems Engineer – UK & Europe – EV Sector – £50,000 to £85,000

UK Site – Hybrid WFH 2/3 days per week (There will be travel with Europe)

Europe – Fully On-Site

This is an opportunity to work for one of the fasted growing companies in the EV Sector globally. They specialise in all areas of EV including Vehicle Manufacturing, Battery Development & Manufacture, EV Powertrain and other exciting areas.

There are over 10 positions across Battery Systems ranging in salaries and responsibilities.

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Managing subsystems and component level design requirements through collaboration with customers, the Homologation department, the Vehicle department and other Electrical Engineering related departments
  • Components validation plans and test methods
  • Developing cooling systems in battery packs
  • Electrical components layout – co-work with electrical engineers
  • Technical drawings and production documentation
  • Providing support to assembly and testing teams during product operations
  • Providing support to ongoing product and process improvement

  1. Main tasks:
  • Battery pack systems and subsystems research and development
  • CAD modelling in collaboration with other team members
  • Design, develop and release component and system specifications
  • Supervising the testing of finished products and systems

  1. Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD software (preferably Catia or Solidworks)
  • Experience in any one (or more) of the following production processes: injection moulding (plastics), metal stamping, sheet metal forming, die castings, vacuum casting
  • Experience with product and process validation
  • Good knowledge of Lithium-based battery cells
  • Self-organised and goal-oriented
  • Very good understanding of mechanical structures
  • Good understanding of thermal analysis
  • Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Communicative teamwork player
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in the relevant field of study
  • At least 5 years of professional automotive experience

  1. Considered as an advantage:
  • Extensive experience in the engineering development
  • Good knowledge of production technology
  • Good knowledge of the battery cell management
  • Experience in cooling system design and management
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical components
